Its all about the stuff since April

The thing that comes to my mind as I write this is how ingrained into our everyday life this austerity has become. It has gripped the country in a way that I have not seen since spice girl mania and that my friends is saying something. I mean just to put a measure on my saying we have high transport costs, banks folding left right and centre and now Mr Darling wants to borrow money in order he says to boost the economy! How i find myself asking is he going to fund that? The words Stealth and Tax are all up there... as if we are not dealing with enough already.

The impact is oh so weird, I feel the retailers have lost the plot and its even been ( so they said) apparent in the football transfer season... really I did not feel that was the case as I watched Robinho sign for Chelsea oh I meant Man City nor when Fergie was exerting his power by stealing Berbatov from Spurs! Anyway enough of the economics I say... a new boom will come in a couple of years and a new crash will be right behind it.... so its our turn now...

So what is new since April, I graded in April and passed to a 4th Kup that is a blue belt to the commoners.. ( ha ha) For those of you new to my sporadic blog I just love my Tae Kwan do. I will be grading again in December, on the 14th to be precise. I had to wait six months for this grading..so now its serious. I will get a red tag if I pass... I will be officially dangerous..so watch out peeps!!

On the social front its been a bit of a whirlwind... forget hurricane Hannah watch out for social Akiti! In July my niece the most wonderful Laurencia 'boss' Davies graduated with a first class honours degree in Maths and Actuarial Science..imagine that... so it was one long entourage for the party in Southampton..7 cars in the end... (you can see the pics on my facebook page)..we were fierce and Southampton definitely felt the presence of the Davies'. Next we had the two car entourage for my young cousin's wedding in Bristol... on and on the social tour continued...naming ceremonies, 40th birthdays...that was Bibi's do.. very retro very good danced all night, my feet are still aching and that was way back in August...but it was well worth it.

Unfortunately we have had our share of bereavements to, cousins, very good friends dad, all sorts...

In June we did the race for life and we raised well over £500 for Cancer Research. We just had to step up the mark, one of our friends was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She has been so admirable and she is kicking its butt...way to go girl... we are all behind ya.. Thanks be to God for his mercies.

Have you tried to start a business in a recession, is it even a good idea? hmm anyway can only try what else can we do.... its hard work but good fun will keep you posted.

Alas I missed my school reunion, it clashed with a prior engagement and even after rearranging things, it all still went out of the window when my wonderful niece turned up 20 mins before I was set to leave..so much for that. I did speak to some of the girls though, that was great, had a conversation with some of them and hopefully will keep up with them.

Another period has passed and I have only told a fraction of what I have been up to..and on it goes.. Social Akiti is still reeking havoc on my sleeping pattern..this Saturday sees me invited to another wedding, I was at one last Saturday too...

Am going to leave you with a book recommendation, its called Goodnight Beautiful by Dorothy Koomson.. very emotionally charged story about childhood friendship with a hard truth about the risk of surrogacy. I recommend it to all you life lovers out there.
