Experimenting and all that!

So i normally go on and on about my lack of discipline in my goal to become a reasonably healthy weight to height ratio but today I thought i would talk about things i like to try in my attempt to be healthier and eat a varied diet.

So I snuck in a cheeky phone call whilst at work to my baby sister with the babies as i fondly call her and we were chatting away when she suddenly asked me how to make lemonade. What a coincidence i thought, and promptly asked her if she were in my head? The reason being,  about 10 minutes before i called her I announced rather loudly in my little office area, that I  planned to make lemonade that evening!  Ha ha I said, I planned to make it my traditional way of squeezing lemons and adding sweetener, but as we spoke i typed it into google, and this recipe came up on the BBC good food website, that suggested you put 3 lemons chopped into a food processor, when i told my sister this she promptly said, well you like experimenting so you try that first and let me know. ha ha ha.. I also mentioned that i had bought mint and cucumber to add, and she piped up so did I. I think the desire was inspired by the turkish restaurant we had been to on Mother's Day where they did a blinding lemonade that we all loved!

So that evening, I made the lemonade, and i have to be honest, it was the best lemonade I have  made in a long long time!, i put it in a jug with mint and cucumber slices, it was so delicious  forgot to take a picture. I can say though, that as I type this i am getting a distinct memory of having had such a drink whilst on holiday in Dubai. One thing I must point out is that i didn't even stop to consider how many syns this might have, and i have to be honest by the time i tasted it, i did not give a dam, cos the drink was too delicious to worry about that!
Apparently amongst my own, I have a bit of a reputation for being a bit of an experimenter, i remember when i was organising my birthday party, i mentioned to my sister in law that i had found a restaurant, and the ensuing conversation regarding how I had found the place led to her making the comment and I quote " well you are likely to experiment so if it's no good we would just take it like that! " how interesting! Well as if to give testimony to that I have to talk about what I got up to during my lapsed SW days, so I would be on my way home via Blackfriars and I would stop at WHSmith in the station, where I would purchase a packet of vegetable crisps ( kettle brand) they are absolutely delicious! They were made of beet root, carrot potato and parsnip I really lived them and would proceed to eat them immediately! No shame whatsoever! Ss it is I'm on a lets improve regime at the moment so I decided that I was going to make my own! Well what an experiment that turned out to be!  I sliced in the food processor carrots parsnips and beet root - all nicely thin! Sprinkled with a bit of sea salt and sprayed with Philippi berio olive oil spray! I put them in a hot oven (195°c) and I baked them until they were cooked, and therein lay the issue! It took ages for them to crisp up and there were bits - especially the beet root that wouldn't crisp! So I'm wondering how many times I'm going to have to try before I get the right result! they were delicious enough though to keep trying to perfect! if anyone knows the best way to make this sort of snack, suggestions would be most welcome
